Matthew Peters is an Associate in the Oxford, Mississippi office and joined the firm in 2015. His practice focuses primarily on energy and commercial litigation. He is a member of the Mississippi Bar and Tennessee Bar.


Matt graduated from Mississippi State University in 2012, with a Bachelor of Accountancy, summa cum laude, and obtained his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2015. Matt served as Associate Articles Editor for Volumes 83 and 84 of the Mississippi Law Journal, and was a member of Phi Delta Phi Honor Society, Ole Miss Law Negotiation Board, Dean’s Leadership Council, and the Defense Lawyers Association. During his third year, Matt placed second in the nation at the 2014 National Sports Law Negotiation Competition in San Diego, California.

Professional Narrative

Matt joined White, Andrews & Shackelford in 2015 after completing law school. While in law school, Matt served as a summer judicial clerk for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.
